Bharatpur Fort was built by Maharaja Surajmal of Bharatpur on 19 February 1733 AD. It is the only invincible fort in India. This fort was attacked by many neighboring states, British and Muslim invaders, but all were unsuccessful. Hence it is also known as Ajay Lohagarh Fort.In 1803 AD, Lord Lake attacked this fort and tried to blow it up by filling this fort with gunpowder. But all his efforts were in vain due to the strength of this fort. Thick and strong stone high-rise walls were built all around the fort, due to which the cannon balls on the walls of the fort were also neutralized, apart from this. Hundreds of feet deep and wide ditch was made around this fort and filled with water, it is said that big eligators were left in this water, strong doors were made on both sides of the fort in which pointed iron bars were installed.Among these, the northern gate is made of Ashtadhatu, which Bharatpur king Jawahar Singh brought down from the Red Fort during the conquest of Delhi in 1765 AD. Inside this fort, you will find Kishori Mahal, Mahal Khas, Moti Mahal and Kothi special places, as well as Jawahar Burj and Fateh Burj, which Maharaja Surajmal built in memory of his victory over the Mughals and the British.
